The HafcoVac EX is a certified explosion-proof industrial vacuum that runs on compressed air. It is the most economical way into a certified explosion-proof vacuum. There is no electric motor, so there are no sparks, no heat build-up and nothing to burn out. All you supply is the air.

Why choose the HafcoVac EX

  • Safe in hazardous locations: ATEX certified and rated for Class I, Division 1 and Class II, Division 1 areas.
  • Strong suction: up to 5x the suction of a typical electric vacuum.
  • Wet or dry: remove the filter and use the liquid shut-off for wet clean-up.
  • Lifetime warranty: only consumables such as filters, bags, gaskets and silencer foam ever need replacing.

What’s included

  • Premium HEPA filter
  • 20 ft static-conductive air supply hose with universal fittings
  • 25 ft or 20 ft vacuum hose (depending on configuration)
  • Grounded cleaning tools
  • 25 ft grounding cable
  • Endorsement Certificate for combustible dust environments

Choose your configuration

  • Drum size: 30 Gallon or 55 Gallon
  • Air supply: 48 CFM, 85 CFM, 185 CFM
  • Vacuum hose: 1.5″ or 2″

Match the air supply to your compressor. A vacuum that gets less air than it needs loses a lot of performance, so if you are unsure, choose the next size down. See the Technical Data tab for compressor sizes.

What size air compressor do I need for the HafcoVac EX?

It depends on the air supply you choose: 48 CFM needs at least a 10 HP compressor (max hose 25 ft); 85 CFM needs at least a 20 HP compressor (max hose 50 ft); 185 CFM needs at least a 40 HP compressor (max hose 100 ft). As a rule of thumb, a compressor delivers about 4 CFM at 90 PSI per horsepower. If you are not sure your air supply is enough, choose the next size down.

Is the HafcoVac EX certified for hazardous locations?

Yes. It is ATEX certified and rated for Class I, Division 1 and Class II, Division 1 (Groups E, F, G) hazardous locations under NEC / NFPA 70. It is NRTL listed, OSHA compliant and built to NFPA 652-654 and 484 for combustible dust.

Why is a compressed air vacuum safer than an electric vacuum?

It creates suction with compressed air through a venturi, so there is no motor, no moving parts and no heat build-up that could ignite dust. OSHA and the NFPA prefer this design for hazardous environments.

Can the HafcoVac EX pick up liquids?

Yes. It works wet or dry. For liquids, remove the filter and use the liquid shut-off.

What is the difference between the HafcoVac EX, EXL, EXR and EXLR?

EX is the economical model with a HEPA filter. EXL adds the S’HUSH Silencer. EXR adds the JACK Tool Holder. EXLR includes both. EXLR-T, T2, T3 and T4 add a 4.5, 9, 13.5 or 18 ft Overhead Extension Kit. Stainless steel versions use a stainless drum, and Dual models use a 185 CFM dual venturi head.

What warranty comes with HafcoVac vacuums?

HafcoVac vacuums carry a lifetime warranty for the original owner against defects in material and workmanship. Consumables such as filters, filter bags, foam silencers and gaskets are not covered.

Do you sell the HafcoVac EX in Canada?
