Now Available: PIG® Floor Mats from New Pig
S&S Finishing Systems now carries PIG® products from New Pig, the Tipton, Pennsylvania company known for absorbent mats and spill-control products. Our first PIG® additions are adhesive-backed floor mats that help keep paint booths, mixing rooms and busy shop floors cleaner and safer.
Who Is New Pig?
New Pig is a U.S. manufacturer based in Tipton, Pennsylvania, that sells its products under the PIG® brand. The company focuses on absorbents, floor mats and spill-control products for workplaces where leaks, drips, overspray and tracked-in grime are a daily reality.
For finishing shops, that focus fits naturally. Paint and primer overspray settle on booth floors, solvents get dripped around mixing stations, and foot and cart traffic spreads it all through the building. A good floor mat catches that mess where it lands, so it doesn’t end up on your parts, your equipment or the rest of your facility.
The PIG® Products We Carry
We’re starting with two adhesive-backed rolls. Both are listed on our website and available by quote.
Paint BoothPIG® Paint Booth Mat with Adhesive Backing (MAT32300)
An absorbent, adhesive-backed mat made for indoor paint booths and refinishing areas. It traps paint, primer overspray, stains, solvents, dust and debris before they build up on the floor.
- 32 in wide x 100 ft long roll
- Blue (MAT32300-BL) or Gray (MAT32300-GY)
- Made for heavy foot traffic and vehicle traffic
Shop FloorsPIG® Grippy® Adhesive-Backed Floor Mat (GRP36200)
A low-profile absorbent mat for entrances, aisles and high-traffic work areas. It soaks up water, grease and oils, and the adhesive backing helps stop it from shifting, bunching or flipping.
- 36 in wide x 100 ft long roll
- Absorbs up to 8 gal per roll
- Handles heavy foot traffic, carts and equipment
Why Floor Protection Matters in a Finishing Shop
Cleaner Finishes
Dried overspray and dust on the booth floor get kicked back into the air. Trapping them in an absorbent mat helps reduce contamination in your next coat.
Less Floor Clean-Up
Instead of scraping or recoating the booth floor, you replace the worn section of mat. The adhesive backing keeps it flat and in place until then.
Safer Walkways
Absorbing drips of water, oil and solvent where they fall helps keep aisles and work areas drier underfoot.
Why Adhesive-Backed Mats Instead of Rubber-Backed Mats?
Traditional rubber-backed or rental mats sit loose on the floor. Over time they slide, curl at the edges and leave gaps between pieces, which creates the very trip hazards they are supposed to prevent. New Pig designed its Grippy® mats to stick to the floor instead.
PIG® Grippy® adhesive-backed mats
- Stay where you put them
- Lie flat without curling
- Easy to clean in place
- One continuous run with no gaps
Loose rubber-backed mats
- Shift under foot and cart traffic
- Bunch up and ripple
- Ongoing laundering or rental fees
- Gaps and overlaps between mats
Because the Grippy® mat comes on a roll, it can be cut to fit your floor plan, including odd shapes around equipment, and laid as a continuous run for a tidier look.
Tested for Slip Resistance
New Pig reports that it tested its Grippy® mats to the ASTM E303-93(R18) standard, which measures the coefficient of friction (COF) of a surface. A higher COF means better grip. On New Pig’s scale, a result of 65 or higher is rated extremely low slip risk, and its Grippy® mats scored well above that in both dry and wet conditions.
| Slip risk rating | Coefficient of friction (COF) |
|---|---|
| Extremely low risk | 65 and above |
| Low risk | 35 to 65 |
| Moderate risk | 25 to 35 |
| High risk | 25 and below |
New Pig also designs its floor safety mats around the U.S. ADA accessibility requirements for walking surfaces: stable, firm and slip resistant. Canadian facilities should confirm what their own provincial and workplace safety rules require.

More Benefits for Busy Facilities
Long-Lasting
New Pig says Grippy® mats typically stay down for 3 to 6 months before replacement, and some users get up to 12 months depending on traffic.
Fits Any Layout
Cut the roll to any length or shape to cover entrances, aisles and work cells without awkward overlaps.
Fewer Slip Incidents
Keeping floors drier and mats firmly in place helps cut wasted clean-up time and reduce slip, trip and fall incidents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can these mats be cut to size?
Yes. Both come as 100 ft rolls, and New Pig designs its Grippy® mats to be cut to any size or shape to fit your floor. Follow the installation guidance on each data sheet for the surface you’re covering.
Are they for indoor or outdoor use?
Both mats are designed for indoor use.
How long does a Grippy® mat last?
New Pig reports a typical service life of 3 to 6 months, with some customers getting up to 12 months. Heavy traffic, carts and spills shorten that, so check the mat regularly and replace worn sections.
